7. Make sure you can see.

Wipe off the windows before driving get yourself some new wiper blades.

6. Make sure other cars can see you

Drive with your headlights on in snow and overcast conditions.

Check your battery, the condition of your tires, your antifreeze and make sure your spare is in good shape.

Make sure you are in control of the car and don’t get surprised.

Things like a blanket, flashlight, flares, shovel, jumper cables, salt or kitty litter, ice scraper, matches, high-energy snack will all be incredibly helpful should you find yourself stuck on the side of the road.

Slippery conditions make it hard to stop. Give yourself the extra distance you need to stay safe.
