My buddy just got back from taking his son to college. It was a long drive with a full car on the way down but an empty one on the way back.

We spent some time chatting about the new experiences his kid would have and how unusual it would be to be apart from him and so far away for weeks at a time.

I could really sympathize, since I’ve been through the same experience.

But I could also offer one small solace: The fact that his son was more than 100 miles away at school qualified him for a discount on his car insurance.  And, as you know, every little bit helps.

There are other, little-known discounts available, too, such as a discount for payments via electronic transfer.

Everyone has to have it in or form or another, so all you have to do to be successful is be honest, keep your promises, and offer people what they want. Someone to talk to about insurance that will give them choices and straight talk.
