You’ve got a big event coming up and you’re busy planning and worried that everything will come off OK. Do you have the right headcount to give the caterer. Did you accidentally seat your uncle at the same table as his ex-wife? Did you get the deposit check off to the band you hired?
Whew. You’ve done everything you can and have everything covered. But what do you do when something goes wrong?
What happens if someone you hired doesn’t follow through? What if the venue has a fire and has to cancel at the last minute? What if the band calls you and tells you their van has broken down and they can’t make it? What happens if someone walks off with the cash box?
Argh.
Although we can’t help you with the seating arrangements, thankfully, there’s a policy for the rest of it. These policies are reasonably priced. The cost is based on the size of the event (usually the head count). They can be set up as little as two weeks (possibly even one week) before the event, and they will reimburse you for the replacement costs of the items or services you need to arrange recognizing that last-minute replacements typically come at a premium.
